The Reduce Method of a Javascript Array

big pharma

I join you from a bland off-white cubicle in the belly of the beast.  I've been grind away at this crap job in corporate america for 8 years.  That's the longest I've ever been at any job, and I care about it less than any job I've ever had.    The people around me are dunces mostly.  They lead boring boring lives, get paid  to have meaningless phone conversations, and when they hang up they complain about the person who was on the other end, its the most passive aggressive environment possible.  I try to be invisible, I try to disappear into the background.  I have a cubicle away from the masses and my boss works in another state.  Mostly no one knows or cares whether I am here or not.  My ambition is to work at something I like, most likely programming.  Things have been going well on that front but I get impatient sometimes.  Trying to cram as much information into my brain as possible without losing my mind.  I'm motivated by how much I hate this job   People ask me about my job when I'm not here, which stinks.  I don't like to be negative but there's really nothing good to say about it.  I vent on twitter @2600design when I'm not here.  They have taken away my access to that site, which is a little soul sucking.   Big pharma doesn't care about you or anyone else.  They just want to keep you alive as long as possible so they can keep selling you drugs.  Peace.

We take a walk and talk and I remember we live in a small town. Its  good for going outside in the early morning and hearing quiet.  Listening to the birds.  Try to imitate their chirps.  I get along with birds. We don't see other people on our walks, and I like that.  I find so many people here mostly boorish, so out to impress each other, ugh... We see our reflections on the windows of the bank, and we wish we could take a picture of ourselves, but we don't have a camera or a cell phone, and... but its fine.  It really, really is.

   You may know me as the guy that makes weird songs on soundcloud, but lately,  I've been working with the Adobe Extendscript Toolkit to write automatons for graphic designers using Illustrator cs6.   This has led me to discover lots of cool new technologies.  First and foremost : JavaScript.  Is it possible that coding is going to ruin my creative impulse, suck the life out of me and leave me a shriveled up shell of my former self?  Maybe.  But a year ago I started watching MIT opencourseware videos on programming, started trying to program at least a little bit each day, and I feel I am on the road to doing scripting for a living.  Your results may vary.   If you are bored and sick of what you're doing for a living, I have to say,  I can't recommend programming enough.  If anything, I feel like thinking about tough problems and how to solve them will only make my other art, and music, better.  

Its fun to wonder about stuff.  Like, don't look it up.  Don't go to google.
Stare into space and wonder about it for awhile.  That's fun, and a lot of times,
it ends up working out.
